Dr. Lisa Woodrich, Psy.D.
Dr. Woodrich is a Colorado native and has recently moved back to the Denver area. She earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Pacific University outside of Portland, Oregon. Her training and clinical work have taken her across the country, including Michigan, Hawaii, Virginia, and most recently Seattle. She is thrilled to return to Denver and share the benefits of those rich clinical experiences in her home town. She has worked in a range of clinical settings, including VA medical centers, specialty clinics, college counseling, home based hoarding teams, inpatient psychiatric hospitals and residential substance use treatment centers. She has expertise in working with trauma across the lifespan; including events related to childhood abuse, domestic violence, physical and sexual assault, disasters, combat, and accidents. Dr. Woodrich also has expertise in treating anxiety related disorders, including generalized anxiety, specific phobias, social phobia, panic disorder, somatic symptom disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, and hoarding disorder. She has a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for the treatment of PTSD, anxiety, and mood disorders. She has significant experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to target emotion dysregulation, impulsive behaviors, and relationship difficulties. She currently integrates DBT skills into the treatment of anxiety and trauma when it is appropriate. Dr. Woodrich has extensive training in exposure and mindfulness-based treatments and promotes a balance between acceptance and change-based strategies in her work with clients. She believes that therapy is a collaborative process and acknowledges that you are the expert of your own experiences. She values diversity and this has been reflected in research and program development efforts throughout her career. She has been honored to take part in the healing process for those she has worked with, and witnessing these transformations inspires her daily. Dr. Woodrich strongly believes in using research to inform clinical practice, and her current research interests include transdiagnostic treatments, mindfulness, and trauma.
